BOOK COVER ART AND DESIGN

For this project, I collaborated with an independent author preparing to self-publish her homeschooling guide through Amazon Direct Publishing. She wanted a cover that reflected the soft, gentle, and minimal aesthetic she envisioned—one that would resonate with parents exploring homeschooling for the first time. To ensure the design aligned with her vision, I conducted an in-depth interview, reviewed her favorite artwork and book designs, and explored visual styles that complemented the tone of her writing.

I created a custom watercolor background, painting a texture that evoked warmth and encouragement—key themes of her book. She loved the result, and it became the foundation of the final design. Additionally, I designed a unique publishing icon featuring a house, book, and the letter “M,” symbolizing her role as both author and independent publisher.

This project showcases my ability to translate a client’s vision into a compelling, professional design while maintaining a thoughtful and cohesive aesthetic that supports the book’s message.
